If the former prince thought he couldn't possibly be humiliated further, he was sadly mistaken. The locals had another weapon in their primitive arsenal, in the form of psychedelic substances. Isla Paraiso and a few of the surrounding islands are home to a rare type of plant with large, yellow leaves. Known simply as 'the leaves' by the natives, they give a blissful high to most creatures that chew on it, and are used for recreational purposes.

Alessio is not a big fan of vegetables, but his cunning servants soon found a way to introduce it to him as garnish for his fish and meat platters. Having never been exposed to any substances like this before, it didn't take much to put the crocodile in a cheerful, stupefied state. His wide pupils and slurred speech would follow up with a loss of focus and inhibition, making him putty in the other reptiles' hands. Another small serving found the prince barely able to form coherent sentences, or keep his balance, much to the amusement of the others. Most importantly of all, a generous third helping of leaves would invariably result in unconsciousness and a period of amnesia, meaning Alessio would not be able to remember anything that had happened the previous evening.

It wouldn't take long for this gratuitous breach of trust to become a weekly special event on the island. Naked and washed of all his body paint, the tribe's self-appointed leader was indistinguishable from any other submissive reptile to walk the beach. He attracted, and welcomed, all forms of affection, from chin-scritching and belly-rubs to more intimate acts. Despite his high level of obedience, the locals enjoyed seeing him strutting around in the shiny restraints, and would laugh at his drunken attempts to talk through his newly-imported muzzle.

Prince Alessio was the life of the party. It was just a shame that he wasn't aware of it. He would never complain about his treatment on the morning after. He would, however, complain angrily about his terrible hangover.
